About the Treatment
What is McTimoney chiropractic?
The treatment is named after it’s founder, John McTimoney, who developed his human chiropractic technique for use in animals. It’s a holistic, non-invasive, whole body treatment that is readily accepted by most animals.
Treatment focuses upon the spine and pelvis where a series of high velocity, low amplitude (light and fast!) adjustments stimulate the the movement of spinal and pelvic joints, inducing a therapeutic response in the surrounding soft tissues (fascia and muscles), via affected nerves to other parts of the body and within the joint itself.
McTimoney Veterinary Chiropractic care rebalances the musculoskeletal system and restores optimal joint, nerve and muscle function.

What is massage therapy?
Massage is the manipulation of the body’s soft tissues to alleviate or prevent stiffness, pain & tension and to improve physical & mental wellbeing.
Applied using hands, the animal’s skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments are stroked, kneaded, rolled and pressed to generate a positive response from the animal’s own body. Light strokes to deep pressure may be applied and the treatment is tailored to each individual.

Massage is very beneficial in the prevention of pain and injury and can be used as part of your animal’s routine care.
